Chris Fouche proprietor of Cutting Edge has taken delivery of two new pieces of Bandit equipment further adding to his current fleet.
The first being the 2900T tracked stump grinder which is unrivalled in its class, with engines ranging from 84.4hp to 114hp, a fully hydrostatic drive system and a cutting depth of 65cm (approx 7cm more than others in the class) this is truly a grinder to be reckoned with.
The grinder is 35” wide with an expanding track base of up to 53” and a folding grading blade to match, but still allows access through a 36” gate. It is exceptionally versatile excelling on soft soil conditions where flotation of a rubber track base is required.Fitted standard with radio remote and tether control and coupled with Bandits ‘bump control’, which is a preset depth control the grinder has everything for the contractor or owner operator. After owning one of these grinders for the last five years Chris quoted ‘I didn’t even consider anything else on the market, the 2900T was an easy decision for me. I need a reliable machine with good service and parts back up and that’s what I get”.
The newly released model 75xp 7” chipper has been received in the marketplace with great admiration, built on Bandit’s renowned robust build quality; this fits nicely into the smaller disc style range of chippers. The 75xp comes with a completely new design of feed system, it has a 7” x 12” wide feed opening which is nearly double most competitive units offered, twin feed wheels which are now mounted opposite to previous models alleviating the space between the feed wheels and the 90 degree chipdisc. This has proved very successful not only on limby material but excellent on Leylandii. A 44hp diesel engine is fitted to this model along with all the usual options such as autofeed and flow control.
Chris quoted ‘I have owned a 6” model Bandit for many years and tried most brands at one time or another but this chipper takes the market to another level, it eats everything you throw at it’.
Cutting Edge based in Winchester in the South of England now runs 7”, 9” tracked and 12” Bandit chippers along with the stump grinders and covers all the South of England, they cater for residential and commercial clients and have recently moved into the groundcare market, thus offering a comprehensive package for the customer. Chris says ‘after ten years in the business with hard work and good equipment the business is still growing’.
