Yet again, during recent trials, the Beast Recycler has been successful in achieving a uniform biomass material, this time from Miscanthus.
After the crop has been harvested, the material is baled into Hesston bales weighing approximately ½ ton to 1 ton each. These can then be fed into the Beast, as the knives cut the baling twine so it does not wrap and because of Bandit’s unique cutting system, it is able to process the material in one pass, as the head cuts directly on the bed, so the material is already sized prior to passing through the screens.
During our trials, we have been processing both wet and dry material, and have produced a 25mm uniform cut. Throughputs have ranged from 10-15 tons an hour with a 500hp machine and 3” screens; this can increase up to 20 tons an hour with larger screens and horsepower.
The ease of loading and handling of the material has made this machine ideal for processing different products, with many of the power stations we have done trials with commenting that so far this is the only machine capable of processing the material in a satisfactory manner.
