New Truck On The Block
That’s how many 2.5mm paper particles there are in a 100kg secure bin-load of confidential waste paper… once it’s been through the multi-knived, brand new Shred-Tech MDX-3 mobile data shredding vehicle now available in Restore Datashred Shredding Company’s fleet.
And did we say that Restore Datashred has the first and only vehicle of its kind in the country?
It’s what you can expect from the UK’s leading data shredding company – an attention to their customers’ data protection, efficiency and reputation that’s second to none.
Increased data protection
In high security mode, the MDX-3 can shred 1600kg of paper per hour.
Given that there could be more than 630million particles, of random shapes, in the back of the truck by the end of such a shredding session, anyone looking to steal personal data would have to have exceptional levels of patience. With a 1 in 630million chance of finding a match for any of the shreds, they could be looking for some time.
This is great news for compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR and, of course, a business’ reputation.
Using the MDX-3 is a win-win for the customer, Restore, and for the environment.
The high speed shredder means on-site collections are completed more rapidly, taking up less of the customers valuable time – especially if you want to check the whole process as confidential data moves from bin to blade.
A quicker processing time for your paper assets means the vehicle is idling for a shorter time, too, which lowers emissions and is less intrusive for work neighbours and colleagues
ForestCo are delighted to announce the purchase of a New Bandit Beast 2680 Tracked Recycler.
The company which operates mainly in the Scottish border region took delivery of the machine over the Christmas period, and the machine was put straight to work converting woodland brash and scrub into Biomass material.
Gary Mitchell one of the ForestCo Company Directors explained: “We took the decision to go for a Bandit Beast as Global’s team demonstrated that the machine can shred their predominant source material to a defined product for biomass use. The machine can also be set up to chip logs for a premium biomass product in under one hour. After trials with competing machinery it soon became obvious that when processing this type of material, the Bandit Beast is unrivalled. We were also impressed with the versatility of the Bandit Beast which can be used in so many different applications like processing round wood to biomass, land clearance including logs & branches, forest brash and stumps, processing green waste and recovered wood and many other applications. Global Recycling Solutions Limited have 12 fully trained mobile service technicians and a very sizeable store of spare parts and we had a high level of confidence that all servicing and breakdowns would be taken care of in good time. Indeed, this has been our experience with Global and our existing Bandit Beast 3680 Recycler. Onwards and upwards”
Peter Banks, Managing Director of Global Recycling Solutions Ltd commented: “The 2680 Track has a Volvo 768hp engine, which is capable of high-volume shredding and chipping in some of the UK’s hardest environments. This is being backed by a fleet of engineers based in different locations across the U.K. and a parts distribution centre based in the East Midlands of England. The brilliance of the Beast is in its versatility and the vast range of in-feed materials it can take, along with the wide range of useable end products. The Bandit Beast will make anything from a bio-mass dust to a gasification premium chip which ranges from a match stick size through to G30, G50, and up to G100, as well as being a top- class shredder and grinder. With a 36” opening, a variable in-feed speed, and a proportional feed system which will increase and decrease the infeed speed automatically dependant on engine load which keeps the engine operating at its optimal power/torque range and reduces the amount of infeed reversals, throughputs and end-product sizes are superb. Global Recycling Solutions are extremely happy that ForestCo made the decision to choose us as their preferred supplier and that the Bandit Beast is the right solution, and I’m sure it will lead to a long -term association and we are very happy to be now working with ForestCo”

Best of luck Chris and thank you for the business.
Bagnall and Morris have been in business for over 60 years, with locations nationwide offering trade waste collection, hazardous waste disposal and secure shredding services. They can also offer tailored total waste management solutions.
Recently B&M purchased a Shred Tech ST-75E static shredder to complement their existing secure shredding services and expand their off-site shredding capabilities.
After looking over several different options, they went for the ST-75E for its unrivalled performance and robust design when compared to other similar shredders.
“The ST-75E was a great fit for us to increase our capacity for our off-site shredding service. Once we saw one in action and saw the quality of the design, and first-hand the performance it would offer, it was an easy decision for us. We already have Shred Tech mobile shredding equipment and we have found this to be very reliable so we were confident in the Shred Tech model. On top of that Global Recycling have always looked after us well when it comes to service and maintenance, so we had peace of mind that in buying the ST-75E we would be able to continue that good relationship” commented Director of B&M Secure Shredding, Paul Curtis.
Paper Shredding Services is the leading on and off-site document and electronic data shredding and recycling company in Scotland. A true Scottish company, who have delivered shredding and recycling services since the year 2000, and worked with hundreds of different business types, both large and small.
Using specialised shredding equipment, whether it’s for document shredding or hard drive shredding, Paper Shredding Services regularly review their requirements for shredding equipment to ensure they are operating at peak efficiency.
To add to their fleet and assist the business further, they recently purchased an MDS-3 18GT Mobile Document Shredder based on a DAF LF55 Chassis and fitted with the tried and tested ST-15H Shredder. Their decision was based on performance and reliability from their other Shred-Tech machines.
“We are delighted with our purchase and the truck is performing extremely well. We also have a Shred Tech ST-35E static shredder which was installed in November 2016 at our Glasgow depot, and this machine has also been extremely reliable with throughputs up to 3000kgs/hour dependant on feed stock” commented Stewart Wilson, General Manager
Despite the bad weather last week, we managed to install another Bandit 20XPT with Matt Pooley of Treefellers – there is no stopping the Bandit machinery.
Our first delivery this week went to a new customer in Sussex, Horsham Tree Services. Aaron decided the Bandit HB20N was the way to go to expand his current business. The HB20N still sells as well today as it did nine years ago making one of the UK’s most popular models.
Horsham Tree Services is an independently owned tree surgery company covering Sussex, Surrey & Hampshire, Aaron offered everything including tree surgery, hedge cutting, estate management, firewood, ground clearance and now stump grinding.

Perrys Recycling, which was founded in 1962, specialised in recycling & off site shredding with one depot in Baltonsborough, Somerset processing around 175 tonnes per week. The family business has grown organically in line with customer needs for legal and environmental compliance. We now operate four shredding & baling depots in the South West – Yeovil (Marston Magna HQ), Bridgwater, Bristol and Bideford. With a fleet of over 30 vehicles servicing customers throughout South West processing over 1200 tonnes per week for shredding & recycling and recovery with zero waste to landfill solutions.
Chris Perry (Managing Director) explains “We have expanded our offsite & onsite shredding services in line with customer’s demands, legal compliance with the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act, Health and Social Care Act and Human Rights Act. As well as the increases in commercial fraud and growth in industrial cyber-crime, influencing the way businesses manage information governance. This has become a priority with customers who want a choice of either onsite & offsite services approved to BSEN15713 and high security CPNi information destruction standards.
We have operated three mobile onsite shredding lorries to BSEN15713 (level 3 standards), servicing customers in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire and South Gloucester. We are also a shareholder member of The Shredding Alliance Limited, providing national service for customers with multiple sites and a central point of contact, invoicing and regular management information. Giving customers the choice or regional or national service contracts.
In order to keep up with the demands of large volume clearances and regular scheduled collections. As well as ever evolving shredding standards such as the new GSC (Government Security Classifications), CPNi (Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure) high destruction standards and the future PAS7010 standards we have invested in a fourth mobile shredding lorry.
The new Shred-Tech MDX2 mobile shredding vehicle has a high throughput of 3 tonnes per hour, with the ability to switch into high-security mode (BSEN15713 level 6/7, DIN P4) when required for customers needing to demonstrate legal compliance to these new regulations.
Global Recycling UK who are agents for Shred Tech are the market leaders in mobile double shredding technology and after much research we felt that the MDX2 vehicle provided the best throughput in standard mode and flexibility to switch to high-security on the same round, for customers who are having to comply with evolving security standards influencing the NHS, Police, Pharmaceutical Industries, Government Authorities, Ministry of Defence and Nuclear Facilities.
This investment completes the range of onsite and offsite shredding options for customers throughout the South West wanting to ensure Legal and Environmental compliance in a world of increased security risks.
Heartwood Tree Surgeons based in Warwickshire was started by Adrian Cook in 1999, and ever since then the company has grown from small beginnings to a well recognized and respected arboricultural contractor and site clearance company. Adrian has concentrated on local authority works through from private clients for many years now, they have invested in machinery heavily and now offer larger site clearance contracting.
The Bandit 150xp 12″ drum chipper is the latest addition to the fleet, fitted with a 142hp engine and optional winch kit this fits nicely into the business, being powerful enough to cope with large takedowns but not too big for smaller work.
